The revised Model Year 2006 Saab 9-5 Saloon and Estate range, to be revealed at next month’s Frankfurt Motor Show, builds on the brand’s core values of progressive Scandinavian design and sporty driver involvement by incorporating new styling and improved handling characteristics.

It features all-new styling front and rear, with a bold new ‘face’ inspired by the Saab 9X concept car, and a fresh look inside that includes an updated dashboard and interior trim.

Excellent chassis dynamics have been further refined to give the driver even closer control with faster, more direct responses for sportier handling characteristics. This has been achieved without compromising ride quality and refinement.

Under the bonnet the all-turbo line-up includes a new 150 bhp 1.9 TiD diesel, a Saab BioPower engine that can run on a high-blend mixture of bioethanol fuel and petrol (E85), and increased power for the top-of-the-range 260 bhp Aero 2.3 HOT model.

Overall, the sportier visual impact of the new 9-5 Saloon and Estate is designed to reflect the enhancements under the bodywork, giving Saab’s flagship range an even stronger appeal for customers who value modern, progressive design and a rewarding driving experience.

Full details of the refreshed Saab 9-5 range will be available following the model’s Frankfurt debut, from 12 September. UK deliveries will commence in November.
