Powered by the SRT-engineered 6.1-liter HEMI® V-8 producing 425 hp (317 kW) and 420 lb.-ft. (569 N•m) of torque, the Dodge Charger SRT8’s powertrain represents a new level in HEMI performance, with 85 additional horsepower — 25 percent more than the 5.7-liter HEMI.

Other SRT enhancements include functional, performance-oriented styling, world-class ride and handling, race-inspired interior appointments and benchmark braking. All together, the 2007 Dodge Charger SRT8 Super Bee is capable of 0-60 mph in the low 5 seconds, 0-100-0 in under 17 seconds and 60-0 mph braking in approximately 110 feet.

The legendary Super Bee nameplate made its debut in 1968 within the Dodge Coronet line. As the newest member of Dodge’s “Scat Pack” performance group, the ‘68 Super Bee originally carried an MSRP of just over $3,000. It was offered as a Dodge Charger only in its last model year, 1971. Restored examples fetch between $80,000 – $100,000 today.

The 2007 Dodge Charger SRT8 Super Bee is the latest edition of the ultimate American muscle sedan, and will be available in dealerships this fall. Pricing has not yet been announced.

Without increased performance(on top of the SRT-8 package), it just isn’t worth it nor does the color scheme look good on the car. The rear wing isn’t nearly big enough either and it needs an aerodynamic nose cone.

  • I think it is a little over kill and muddying of the waters…

If you want to call it a super bee you need a bigger change than a hemi charger with retro stickers, yellow stitching and bigger brakes. Some thing signifigant power wise must be done (infamous hemi with the added power of the 6-pack the super bee became known for) such as make it a supercharged hemi plus the brakes and other stuff but not to plush. Keep functional over comfort.

Super bee was supposed to be stripped down shared platform and unique extra power. Muscle power on a budget.

Super bees stir up images a stripped interior with only the additions of performance items suchs rally gauges and a hurst shifter, no ac etc. Fiberglass hood and a 440 running a Holley 6-Pack instead of a 4 barrel carb.

  • Great concept. I do wish they would make it more different than the Daytona instead of adding stripes and charging more. Nice looking wheels. I really like to see a Plum Crazy with White Stripes. Seems all they are doing is yellow with black. I know they came out with more color combo’s in the good ol’ days. Oh, I’d like to have one in my garage.

I think it would be more successful if Dodge came out with a “Doesn’t look like complete ass” version of the charger. You know, maybe a different grill, lights, tail lights, trunk, wheels….

Embarassing attempt at a Super Bee. I am not a Ford fan, but take a look at the Mustang lately? A 4 door Super Bee? Talk about trying to drum up sales by slapping on a couple of decals, and gunning for the baby boomers that had a real one in high school…Give it up. It sucks

They need to quit messing around with the “Charger” and get going with the “Challenger”. I am no Dodge fan but if they build the challenger, I will buy it.

I THINK ITS KILLER!!!!!!! and Congrats to Chrysler for NOT sitting on their BUTT like GM has done .. BTW.. I have a 1969 SS Chevelle …thats mint

  • Chevelle's Rule

If this was a baseball game … I’d say the dodge boys have two strike’s against em….. & the Challengers at the plate what you think?? solid standing double… sliding triple ??? or home run ??? or is the game a wash ???
    BUTT UGLY!!!
    Try Again Next Time…….

  • stop hating, that car is sick

It will kick a Mustang GT’s butt in a heartbeat. Face it ‘Stang lovers, your beloved Blue Oval is crapping all over you letting their dealerships charge in excess of $30K (profit) on the new GT 500…

And so what if it has four doors? So did the Neon SRT-4 which was more than capable of kicking a 300Z butt…

And for the GTO owners, yeah, you may have a slight advantage but the Bee is far better looklng and horsepower can always be improved (GOAT owners can’t say that for their looks)

After much comparison and debate, I purchased an R/T this week. Yes, I wanted a two door, but compromises are made, and as such know this..only Dodge has the balls to produce somthing so anti-Honda Civic. Your neighbor knows that his wife digs your tire boilin’ ride. Dodge is on the right track, and with the Challenger production announcement, they’re back in the saddle. Bout’ time an american car company listens to its people.

WELL I DROVE THE 07 SUPERBEE THIS SAT AND IT WAS NOT ALL I EXPECTED THE MOTOR TO BE THE STEERING WAS GREAT SINCE I OWNED A 69 440 SUPERBEE 30 YEARS AGO. THE DEALER STATED TO ME THAT THIS CAR WAS NUMBER 768 OUT OF A 1000 MADE. DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHAT THE 6.1 MOTOR SIZE IS? THE HOOD SCOOP WAS A JOKE CANT BE RAM AIR IT’S NOT HOOKED UP TO NOTHING. AND NO MANUAL SHIFTING AND THE 4 DOOR AND NO OTHER COLORS TO PICK FROM WAS NOT A GREAT SELLING POINT TO ME WHEN IM DOING A 120 DOWN THE ROAD IN A BIG YELLOW 4 DOOR BANANA. BRING ON THE 2 DOOR CHALLENGER

Saw it, drove it, bought it and after 3 days couldn’t be happier. Yes, I know, its a 4 door. So what, get over yourselfs. There is a reason 2 doors dont sell, its called a family. Now, with that said, I really wanted a Shelby GT 500 but wasnt about to spend 25k over sticker, even for 500 horsepower. This car was for me, to drive on weekends and occasionally during the week since I drive off road and alot of miles. At 6′5″ I was barely able to fit in the Mustang, or most sport cars. This is a hot car for what it is, and if more manufacturers would build cars like this, I think you would see that they sell. Chevy and Ford cant build this, the GTO is really bland and the Mustang is only good for 2 people. I go 0-60 in 5 seconds and can take my family with me, and All you haters, I know even you cant take your eyes of the car when I blow by.

This car is so bad ass, I’m actually going to but this car in a couple of weeks, once i get it, i’m making it even more faster
But i’m going to have to agree with silver30v, it’s called the super bee, but it’s pretty much the same as the rest of them, i think they should be super charged or put the srt10 engine under the under, make it more extreme and super, if a guy is going to be driving a yellow car around with a bee on it, make it better than the rest

C’mon guys – cars are made by CORPORATIONS. You know, those places where about a zillion people have their own perspective on every decision the corp makes. And the guys who MAKE the final decision have been reamed by the bean-counters [no k-y, either]. If the product flops, guess what? Someone’s looking for a job.
Potential profit is the villain that said “4-doors” or “no v-10″ or a thousand other things we’d all do if we could build our own car. If you’ve been through it [I have], you can look back and realize how surreal the process was.
Having said that, I believe most of the comments I’ve seen have been valid points. We just have no way of convincing the bean-counters.

This car is HOT!! I wish I could get one…

  • Fatrock

Had an original, bought a new one, eat Mustangs daily, Vettes almost as often, though not Z06’s. Stang owners, get over yourselves-this 4 door is badass.

  • roxyathena

although I have a family myself, I’m not too keen on the fact that this thing is a 4-door. the original Super Bee was a muscle car, intended to go fast but only cram so many people in it. Yeah, you want to go fast and take your family, but when you’re tumbling 3, 4 times over with your 2 year old in the backseat, how much of an ass is that gonna make you feel because you wanted your stupid 4 door car? Sorry, I’ll stick with the GT500, and leave my kids at home.
