TT Forums: 2nd Generation Audi TT Test Car Crashes in Germany

A 2nd Generation TT Test Mule was recently involved in a fatality accident in Germany. Reports are that both occupants died, and a special Audi unit was on-site to retrieve the vehicle within 20 minutes. The 2nd Generation Audi TT is set to debut at the New York International Auto Show later this month.

March 27, 2006 — TORRANCE, Calif — Celebrating its 20th anniversary as a brand, Acura today announced plans to debut a concept version of the all-new MDX luxury sport-utility vehicle, April 12, at the New York International Auto Show and released an artist’s rendering of the new vehicle. Scheduled to debut later this year, the 2007 Acura MDX will be the second generation of Acura’s luxury SUV to be designed, developed and manufactured exclusively in North America.

Bugatti Veyron Makes Its Debut At 2006 Goodwood Festival of Speed

The incredible 1,000bhp Bugatti Veyron made its first appearance at a UK event when it roared up the Goodwood hillclimb on March 23rd during the annual Festival of Speed press launch. There were also debut appearances for the Maserati GranSport Spyder, Prodrive P2 and Range Rover Sport Supercharged HST.

In total, more than 50 important racing cars and motorcycles took part, along with a host of motor sport heroes. Half a dozen great rally drivers were in action both on the hillclimb and the new, improved Forest Rally Stage. Former World Champion Hannu Mikkola, who acted as Goodwood’s consultant on the course design, was joined by fellow World Champion Colin McRae and legendary Monte Carlo Rally winner Rauno Aaltonen, British Champions Russell Brookes and Marcus Dodd, plus former Datsun Works star Tony Fall.     Chrysler Group announced today that a new model — the 2007 Chrysler 300 Long Wheelbase — will be on display at the New York International Auto Show, in the Jacob K. Javits Center, April 14-23 in New York City. The Chrysler 300 Long Wheelbase is six inches longer than the current models, providing more than 46 inches of rear legroom and an additional 10.2 cubic feet of interior space. Available this fall, the lengthier Chrysler 300 is expected to attract sales from the livery/limousine industry, as well as retail customers.     March 20, 2006 -Torrance, CA - Scion, of Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc., announced today that the second limited-production Scion for 2006, the tC Release Series 2.0 (tC R.S. 2.0), hits dealer showrooms beginning in mid-April.

    The 2006 tC Release Series 2.0 will come in a brilliant Blue Blitz Mica. This limited edition tC features a stainless steel mesh upper and lower front grille and 17-inch alloy wheels that come with a satin metallic finish. The tC’s only factory option, front seat-mounted side airbags and front and rear side curtain airbags, is standard equipment on the R.S. 2.0.

    Inside, the tC’s front and rear seats are trimmed with black Alcantara®, a suede-like material that provides passengers better friction grip and is more commonly found in luxury or performance vehicles and on aftermarket racing seats. The tC R.S. 2.0 comes standard with a Pioneer Premium AM/FM/CD audio system with iPod connectivity and color-changing LED display.

    A Pioneer six-inch subwoofer with 35-watt maximum power complements the upgraded head unit and is tuned specifically for the tC. This compact subwoofer is mounted in the under-floor storage area, keeping it out of sight and leaving the cargo floor clear. This tC also is equipped with XM Satellite Radio and comes with a paid three-month subscription, wherever XM service is available. An individually numbered brushed stainless steel badge completes the uniqueness of this vehicle.

    Only 2,600 units of the tC Release Series 2.0 will be built. The tC Release Series 2.0 model will carry a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $1,960 over the base price of the tC. The base MSRP for the tC starts at $16,300.

    A 2006 tC Release Series 2.0 will be on display in the Scion booth at the New York International Auto Show.
