Sporting Porsche 911 GT3 RS unleashed for road and track

Zerin Dube | May 29, 2006

In October, Porsche will launch the new 911 GT3 RS in the UK. The GT3 RS is distinguished by its performance capability and an unadulterated driving experience similar to that of a racing car. But while particularly suited for use on the track, the car also meets all requirements for road-legal sports cars.

The reference “RS” will quicken the pulse of Porsche connoisseurs. Models such as the legendary Carrera RS 2.7 of 1972 and the 1991 Type 964 911 RS were also sports cars that stood out on account of their extreme degree of maneuverability and handling. That tradition is continued with the new 911 GT3 RS. In common with its predecessors, it provides an homologation model for use in a range of racing series.

Saturn Vue Green Line Gets Lowest Hybrid Suv Price, Best Suv Highway Fuel Economy Rating

Zerin Dube |

Detroit — Saturn announced today that the new 2007 Vue Green Line hybrid SUV will carry a starting price of $22,995 (including destination charge), making it the lowest-priced hybrid SUV on the market.

In addition to its value price, Vue Green Line will carry an EPA fuel economy rating of 27 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway – the best highway fuel economy of any SUV currently available. That equates a to 20 percent improvement in fuel economy compared to a non-hybrid Vue, depending on driving conditions.

“The Vue Green Line proves you can go green without going broke,” said Saturn General Manager Jill Lajdziak. “With a starting sticker price almost $4,000 less than any competing hybrid SUV, it makes true hybrid fuel savings available to more people than ever before.”

The Vue Green Line will be produced in Spring Hill, Tenn., and will begin arriving in Saturn retail facilities later this summer.

GM Offers Gas Price Protection to Consumers in Florida and California

Zerin Dube | May 23, 2006

ALPHARETTA, GA – GM today announced its “GM Fuel Price Protection Program.” This regional program caps what consumers pay for gas at $1.99 a gallon when they purchase select 2006 and 2007 GM full-size utilities and mid-size cars.

“This program gives consumers an opportunity to experience the highly fuel-efficient vehicles GM has to offer in the mid-size segment,” said Dave Borchelt, GM Southeast regional general manager. “It helps protect consumers against rising fuel prices by providing them with a partial credit for their fuel purchases for one year.”

The credit is based on the consumer’s estimated fuel usage each month. Fuel consumption is calculated based on the mileage driven, as recorded by OnStar and the EPA city fuel economy mileage rating for the vehicle.

Using the calculation of the consumer’s estimated fuel usage each month, they will be credited for the difference between the average price per gallon of premium fuel in their state, as published by the Automobile Association of America (AAA), and the $1.99 gas price protection cap.

KW Suspensions - Team Boshart at the RIM

mchow |

We raced April 28-29 at the Rim of the World Rally with the newly reconstructed Rally Reno.  The car did great and the KW suspension is still working fabulously!  I think we’ve finally found the exact shock tune that we need to be fast.  We ended up 3rd in our class and 16th overall (out of 48).

During the super special stages (in front of 500+ spectators) we beat a Subaru WRX twice!  That surprised the crowd and we got many cheers for our 2wd Reno.  I’ve included a few pictures from the event for you to see.  You’ll notice in the jump picture that the WRX is out front, but we caught him in the corners and ended up a few car lengths ahead at the finish line.

The pic with Chip is of a Lambo Diablo SVTT (twin turbo) that one of our rally friends drove out to the rally.  That’s one fast car!  The other pic with myself is with Subaru driver Travis Pastrana.  He’s looked at as one of the best drivers in North America currently.  He has a driving coefficient of 1!

Anyway, I just wanted to share the fun we had and say thanks again for an awesome product.  We make sure everyone knows we’re racing on KW suspension.

Dean, Boshart Motorsports
