Citroën is bringing two eye-catching ‘out of this world’ concepts to the UK for the very first time at this year’s British International Motor Show (July 20-30, ExCel, London). The C-Buggy and C-AirPlay will feature on the Company’s stand, alongside the latest in Citroën technology and the new flagship of the range, the sublime, executive C6.

The C-Buggy 4WD concept, with its bright yellow interior, is certain to turn heads at the show. Designed without a roof, windscreen or windows, the 155hp C-Buggy is Citroën’s radical take on an adventurous two-seater of the future, with wide wheel arches, large 17″ wheels and cut-outs in the body sides hinting at its off-road credentials.

Masterminded by Citroën’s award-winning British designer, Mark Lloyd, the striking C-AirPlay concept car is a futuristic urban supermini, featuring iridescent white bodywork, see-through ‘portholes’ in the lower sections of the doors, touch sensitive controls moulded into a single-piece silicone front seat and a massive glazed area.

From concept to reality, the widely acclaimed C6 executive saloon will be appearing at its first major UK show. Just launched in this country, the C6 combines stunning design lines with the highest levels of comfort and safety and the very latest technology, including an Active Bonnet, Head-Up Display and Lane Departure Warning System.

The latest technological developments from Citroën - a new diesel engine and advanced electronic gearbox system - will also be on display. On sale in the UK soon, the 173bhp HDi diesel engine will set new standards for flexibility, driveability and fuel efficiency. Set to feature in the Citroën C5, the engine benefits from the fitment of a high performance parallel sequential dual turbo and new combustion and injection systems.

Citroën’s innovative C4 will feature a new 6-speed electro-hydraulic gearbox that combines control for smooth, fast gear changing with automated gear and clutch management. With both paddleshift and automatic gearchanges, and a special Sport mode, this advanced system offers real economy and performance benefits.
