Our buddies over at Jalopnik.com were kind enough to provide us with this new shot of the upcoming 2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty. There have been a ton of rumors circulating as to what these new trucks have underneath, but it has been confirmed that these testers are powered by a 6.4-liter Powerstroke V8 Turbo Diesel. Expect a first quarter launch, with the new truck probably bowing at the 2007 NAIAS in Detroit.

    I’ve been reading this web site every day for nearly a year now and while I have found it to be both entertaining and informative, it has now seemingly become nothing more then a pissing match between “Bill” and “Mike”. So at this point, I now find myself somewhat obligated to interject so that this little dispute might end and that future readers can go on to discussing more important matters then who’s a fag, puss, chicken-shit, or poo-pooh. To this end, I’d like to begin by summarizing the content of each of the above participant’s entries.

    Mike – Is a Chevy freak. He lives, eats, breaths Chevy every day. GMC, Chevy – no difference. Everyone knows that they are the same damn truck. He posts news articles, of various sources and offers comments based on the articles and everyone else is encouraged to state their own opinion. The only thing I’ve seen Mikey get upset about is when someone can’t support their claims with any substantiated facts from a reliable source. Who can blame him for that? He likes that Dodge Cummins engine, but feels that the rest of the truck is a pile of crap. Personally, I think that is a pretty accurate statement, and I think there are a lot of others that would agree, but to each his own.

    Bill – On the other hand is a Dodge freak and there is nothing anyone can say that is going to change his mind. He claims he owns a 2004 Dodge 1 ton dully with an unknown diesel engine that’s chipped out , with artic cat duel turbos, stock suspension, a 100 hp nitrous, propane boost and a “reworked transmission” that he only paid $33,000 for brand new. In addition his truck runs over 700 hp and that he needs that much hp for everyday use.

    The feud – Chevy vs Dodge. Mike wants a contract for pinks. Both want to run modified, but Bill says that the only way he’ll run is if he maintains a weight advantage over the Chevy “cuz that’s how they are stock”. Mike has set up an email site to exchange personal information for the contract. Bill won’t send any personal information to Mike, he just what’s him to “show up”. Mike has provided a VIN number for the truck he is going to modify and run. Bill says Mike’s VIN number is made up and won’t provide his trucks VIN number.

    Commentary – In the tone of the TV show “Saturday Night Live” I have to begin by stating, “Bill…you ignorant slut”. Your “Money-Maker” video is a sham. The flashing red light on the break control proves it. When asked what the outcome of the civil case was you refused to answer and resorted to just calling others names like “carboy”, “fag”, “puss”, whatever. All that name calling just proves that you’re nothing more then a southern, redneck reject akin to the southern rednecks from the movie “Deliverance”. (you probably even play a banjo) Some advise Bill,…fat, lazy and ignorant is no way to go through life. Grow a brain. The reason you think Mikes VIN number is “made up” is that you probably think VIN stands for “Velocity In Neutral”. Face it Bill, the real reason you don’t what to supply your VIN number is that you don’t what the world to know you drive a rebuilt wreck or even better a stolen truck from an adjoining state. You and your redneck, Broke-Back-Mountain buddies probably steal trucks and strip parts for a living. And don’t worry Mike he’ll never show up to pull against you because the reason it takes him two weeks to get any information on someone from their name is that he only has visitation rights once a week at the county jail. To future readers of this site, let us just ignore the trash and babble that Bill puts up. He offers nothing of value. His talk is childish and immature. He’ll probably have a few choice words for me too like “fag”, “pussy’ or “pooh-pooh head” or make some other childish school yard threat. Yes, the best thing we can do us just to ignore the poor bastard. Let him rant and rave if he chooses to, but don’t respond to him any more. Maybe then he’ll just go away. And if anyone should actually see Bill in person, mark my words if he says that “you’ve got a real pretty grill”, he’s not talking about your truck!

    Q: Is there any truth to the rumors we’re hearing about aluminum cylinder head and head gasket failures?

    A: The aluminum cylinder heads are the primary contributing factor in why the Duramax 6600 has become so successful and has developed an excellent reliability record. The Duramax has had far fewer head gasket problems than the Ford 6.0L Powerstroke and the Dodge Cummins. The LB7 (2001-2004 models) have experienced a few problems with head gaskets or injector cup seal leaks in recent years. Symptoms can include either a slow loss of coolant or allow the cooling system to build excessive pressure. Overall, these sorts of problems are few and far between, but do appear more often in engines that are running performance enhancing products. The latest LLY, LBZ and LMM engines are much less affected.

    Being a camper dealer I have the opportunity to drive many new trucks . Everyone is building a nice truck now . However , if you plan on hauling a big camper stay away from the 2007 Dodge 3500 HD Dually . It is absolutely the worse driving truck with a big camper and in my opinion dangerous . No sway bar from the factory , shocks not up to task . No one builds a heavy shock for the truck yet , Rancho and KYB might have theirs out by mid summer and Roadmaster is at least 30 days out with their sway bar . Just thought I would mention this . My friend just traded off his 05 F-350 and bought a new 07 Dodge 6.7 3500 HD dually because he was afraid of the 6.0 PS and is sick to his stomach over the dangerous drive with his big camper on the back of his new Dodge . I love the smooth power of the 6.7 , it is a beautiful truck in every other regard ,but it just plain sucks hauling his 11.6 foot camper. He admits the Ford was superior in this aspect . My Uncle has a Chev Dually , it does a fine job hauling a camper too . Dodge needs to address this , the simple addition of a quality sway bar and shocks would cure this deficiency .

    I just wanted to say, I’ve been reading this debate for a while now and can tell you that in todays day and age Ford and Chevy far surpass Dodge. Bill one question, if the new Dodges are so much better than the Chevys, then why are they giving them away? As for the Ford, they are good trucks but had a little mistake with the 6.0. Now that the quirks are worked out, Fords are great trucks.
    What I say is not from a bias view, my great friend and a person I used to work with has a 1992 Dodge Ram 250 Turbo Cummins Diesel. That 12 valve has over 300,000 miles on it. That had to have been one of the best trucks ever built. However, after the first generation Cummins, Dodge went downhill from there. As for Ford I personally have not owned one but my uncle has one and uses it for his delivery route. He has not had any trouble with the 6.0 but has had to have it in for transmission service. For me, I have been around the original 6.2 with a 4 speed and I’ve never had a problem with it. My 6.2 is a loyal truck but doesn’t compare to the brutes of today. Also, I have a 2005 Chevy 2500hd with the Duramax. I wouldn’t say I haul heavy loads often (five horses twice a week) but when I do, I tow either a tractor or a full gooseneck trailer filled with hay. The trailer filled easily weighs 14,000lbs. I haven’t had a problem and the cruise control doesn’t even drop in speed on hills. The truck has 35,000 miles and have just had to do regular service. As for my neighbors f-250 powerstroke its had the same luck. So its hard to say, but I definatly think the Chevy is a better truck. I’ve always went GM and most the Ford’s I’ve known have had silly problems. Just thought I’d give some insight. Wish you all the best of luck with your trucks!

    Ok, I just read this thread and figured I would drop my .02, I am a fleet manager who has to purchase from the “Big 3″ in my fleet, I currently have an 04 F350, 05 F450, 05 F550, 07 F350, 08 F350, 03 K3500HD, 07 K2500HD and an 07 3500 6.7L cummins. All of these are deisels and all of them have great power!

    The best power goes to the Chevy’s-HANDS DOWN!
    The best transmission goes to the Chevy’s
    The best ride goes to the Ford’s-AGAIN HANDS DOWN
    Worst overall———-the Dodge

    I personally own a Chevy HD so yes, I am a little biased BUT, I drive the 08 F350 for work because of the ride! I usually pull about 10-15K with my trucks and all of them pull well (especially compared to gassers). I have to admit that I think the General has a better product and next year when I trade my GM HD in, it will be on a new GM (leaning toward the GMC).

    Yes the 08 Fords are really nice trucks but I think they have yet again missed the mark that GM set with the Duramax truck motors! One of these days Ford will get it right and GM will rewrite the book again and we will all benefit from it, until then buy whatever tickles your tushy cause you are gonna be the one writing that painfully expensive check every month!

    I’m just asking a question because your a knowlegable person. Look at the GMC website at the Sierra 3500 and the Sierra Classic 3500. The Sierra Classic says the towing capacity is a couple hundred pounds more than the Sierra. I am asking why this is because you work for GM and should know.

Speaking of injector problems how about that shitty Bosch injector Dodge had in their trucks until 03′? Really Bill I’m not looking to argue with you because everyone has different needs and opinions. If your needs are a cheap diesel work truck go with the Dodge. If you want a towing brute and luxury with no practicality go Ford. If you want a truck that can tow alot and still get good gas mileage go Chevy. That is the bottom line.

    I can tell you know nothing about diesels. First of all if you have a diesel it doesnt get gas mileage. Duh. Chevy has had far more problems than cummins with injectors. You and mikey are in the same boat on cheap. Explain to me dumbass how a equivalent truck in dodge costs more than a chevy? So what exactly is cheap? It has the better diesel, the better front end and its a proven diesel. Give me a break dumbass. Yea go chevy if you want the smallest truck, go chevy if you want injector trouble, go chevy if you want the only h.d. truck on the road with aluminum heads.     You’re right, not gas mileage; fuel economy. Didn’t say cummins was bad but the reality is at the Dodge dealer they will practically give Dodges away. The 2500 hd that I have is more practical, better looking, sells in larger masses, and yes tows more than the 2500 cummins. The Chevy is far more comfortable and quiet. Why am I saying quiet? If you bought a Dodge, quiet must not matter to you anyway. I agree the 5.9 cummins engine is a good engine. However, the rest of the truck is aged and behind in technology which strongly hinders the overall performance.

    The GM interiors are larger (MUCH LARGER) then the standard Dodge junk… The only oone that is larger is the Mega Cab. And guess what. They are not selling either.

    Fuel injectors.

    I guess you need to be reminded the problem was fixed over 6 model years ago. Catch up with the times. Or just keep driving old outdated technology. Your choice.

    Aluminum Heads.

    A marvel of engineering genious. So much so that Cummins is developing their new engines using the very same Aluminum heads that Bildo claims is a GM weakness.

    Seems to me that Bildo’s best defense is a good offense. Problem is. The smart people know the truth. And will not fall for his stupidity.
