well i seen the new lancer 2008, i sell them and i cant wait till the ralliart comes out, what i heard was that all 2008 lancers have the out put for a turbo…. well will see what happens

hmm interesting… j. im just as excited as you sound about the new Evo X, and just to clarify, by ‘out put for a turbo’ do you mean than the exhaust manifold already comes with an ‘output’ that could be used to bolt on turbo and therefore eliminate the need to change the manifold (at least for a stage 1 turbo)? And if so, do you have anymore info about it like how the seal used etc?

And to the guys writing the article, i could be wrong, but isnt the figure of ‘220 horsepower’ in the above article meant to be 220 kilowatts which would bring the horsepower rating up to nearly 300 horsepower? I certainly dont want the Evo to be a Pep Boy accessory kit.

Since the new 08 Lancer, even in the base DE, ES, and GTS models, uses the base 2.0L I4 4B11 engine that the Evo will use, it will be able to more readily accept Evo parts/Copy Parts from third party manufacturers. Furthermore, if you look at pictures under the hood of the new 08 Lancer, you will easily see the big gap behind the engine that was planned into the design to accommodate the Evo’s turbo later on.

As for your questions concerning the Ralliart variant due out shortly after the Evo is released in the Spring of 2008, it is rated that with it’s light turbo system, it will be putting out around 225 to 250 HP stock to its light version of AWD where as the Evo will be closer to the 300 to 325 HP mark with a complete high end and feature rich AWD system. So, you have nothing to worry about. There aint gonna be any Pep Boys version here. I am personally going to hold out for the Ralliart Version so I can have the extra “fun” for less. The current estimates for price ranges for the Ralliart are around $25K base with more for extra accessories and amenities. The Evo will float closer towards $32K to $35K.

As for the Sportback/hatch version. Because the current U.S. market doesn’t have the same love and popularity with Hatches as in Europe and Asia, the current info and plan from Mitsubishi is to not release that variant in The U.S. That being said, it is always a possibility. Should the market for Mitsubishi cars improve and climb out of the current slump it is in, which sales figures show it is, they may just bring that variant to the U.S. market.

With regards to the Title, no, this isn’t the new Evo… The lack of an intercooler confirms that, yet for a regular lancer this looks quite stunning… I still wish they stuck with the original lamps they showed us on their Evo X Concept Car!

I think the car resembles a Lexus 250IS. However, it still looks good. Especially if the price for the Lancer is going to be in the high teens and low twenties ( none EVO trim).
