Our Friends at Jalopnik.com are Superstars!

Zerin Dube | July 24, 2006

Our friends over at Jalopnik.com have become celebrities in the recent weeks, with all sorts of TV appearances. Ray Wert was most recently on CNBC last week discussing the state of the Ford Motor Company. Little did CNBC know that a drinking game had been created on Jalopnik.com prior to Ray’s appearance. Watch the original clip from CNBC last week, then watch the segment that CNBC ran the next day after they found out about the drinking game. Ray, you are a superstar baby!

Read the game and watch the videos after the jump.

The game was created by Jalopnik reader, TexansAreHot, to which Ray replied “Dude — see…you call this a “drinking game.” I call this a “checklist” for things I’ll do on the air tonight.”

Here we go, top of my head. Pressure pressure pressure…

Take 1 drink;
- If the Jalop nods with appreciation when his name is mentioned.
- Each time the line of questioning turns to the Jalop.
- Everytime the eyes shift.
- When the phrase “Ford Motor Company” is mentioned in its entirety.
- If Ford’s $123 million hit is mentioned.
- Each time Ford’s current models are blamed for their quarterly loss.
- Every time a panel member says “I think.”
- When the Edge is mentioned.
- If someone mentions the Zephyr.
- When the Lincoln MkS is brought up.
- When the question pops up of what exactly the “Way Forward” program is.
- If a panel member nods more than four times without saying anything.

Take 2 drinks;
- If Ford is called “FoMoCo.”
- If the Freestyle is mentioned.
- If the “Bold Moves/Kelly Clarkson” ads are brought up.
- If the Shelby Cobra is brought up by the panel or host.
- If Bill Ford or anyone explains what exactly FoMoCo is moving faster towards.

Finish your beer;
- If the “Way Forward” program is finally, shockingly explained.
- If someone says “I’d totally do Kelly Clarkson” or any variance thereof.

First, Ray’s appearance on CNBC:

The Day-Walker Woodchuck: How Much Gas Would A Headlight Use If A Headight Did Use Gas

When we were kids, we loved that “Way Things Work” book. Although we absorbed very little from it, it was always fun looking at the pretty pictures and diagrams. HowStuffWorks.com is the net equivalent of that book, and just…
