Seems that GM is going to announce information on an “exciting new vehicle.” Hmm, wonder what that could be?? Camaro perhaps? We’ll bet the farm on it. Rumors have been flying for months that this project has already been green lighted internally, and just awaited the public announcement. We hear that the new Camaro might be ready as soon as the ‘08 model year. With the Challenger already announced for ‘08, and rumors flying about a special Mustang BOSS variant, we simply can’t wait. High gas prices be damned, we want more horsepower! Bring on the muscle car wars!

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich., Aug. 9, 2006 – Ford Motor Company will increase the pace of new product introductions as it accelerates the Way Forward plan, Mark Fields, Ford’s president of The Americas, tells industry leaders at the Center for Automotive Research’s 40th annual Management Briefing Seminars.

“When we talk about acceleration at Ford, that includes more new products, features and technologies throughout our lineup,” says Fields. “We have nine new Ford and Lincoln Mercury products going on sale in the next six months alone, and we are rebuilding our business for the future with an emphasis on more new products faster.”

Among the new products are the Ford Shelby GT – on sale in January – and Lincoln MKS flagship sedan, which will arrive in showrooms in 2008.

More detail after the jump.

BMW today introduced the new X5 Sports Activity Vehicle. We’re not sure what exactly makes it a SAV instead of an SUV, but the new X5 does come with a whole slew of new features. In the U.S., the new X5 will be available with a new 4.8-liter V8 that produces 350 horsepower, or a 3.0-liter inline-six with 260 horsepower. This power is delivered to the wheels via a new six-speed automatic transmission with an enhanced xDrive AWD system with more ground clearance than its predecessor. The interior has grown, and now seats up to seven passengers. BMW says that they have used lightweight materials throughout to keep weight down, despite the increase in size. While the previous X5 certainly wasn’t a bad looking vehicle, this new X5 looks extremely agressive and is one of the nicest new designs we’ve seen come out of BMW lately.

Full press release after the jump.

We always love to see how many times Audi uses the word Dynamism in their press releases. We’re not quite sure what it means, but we do know this… the new Audi S3 is chock full of it! The new Audi S3 is the latest in Audi’s new S car range, and features an upgraded 2.0T FSI engine producing 265 horsepower. To seperate the S3 from the lesser 3.2 S-line models, Audi has given the S3 new 18-inch S exclusive wheels, and given the front and rear fascias agressive spoiler upgrades. The suspension has also been upgraded with stiffer shocks, and more responsive electro-mechanical steering. The list goes on and on… full information and photos after the jump.
