‘Twas the Friday before Labor Day, and all through the Dearborn Test Track, not a test car was stirring… except for the Red Dragon. The Mustang was jumping off the hills without care… in hopes that Speed:Sport:Life’s writers soon would be there.
This past week, we visited Ford SVT headquarters in Allen Park, Michigan to learn the story behind the sold-out, eighty-thousand-dollar boutique Mustang GT500KR and to learn a little bit about SVT’s past, present, and future. We had plenty of questions: Why does the GT500KR cost more than a Corvette Z06? Was the Ford GT profitable? Will Lightning strike thrice? SVT’s head honchos had plenty of answers, and we’ll have two full video interviews and a complete writeup later this week. In the meantime, enjoy a bump-stop-ripping pair of laps around the Dearborn Test Track in SVT’s half-caged GT500KR, which has been nicknamed the “Red Dragon” for reasons we don’t fully understand. Perhaps someone at SVT is a Thomas Harris fan?

In the video it seems like you might have actually caught air over those two big (evil) bumps.
