@ mad_science, you could run it in NASA Time Trial as is but any real wheel to wheel series including the really slow stuff requires that you have the full complement of safety equipment.

Kudos to Switzer on delivering in a big way.

I've long detracted supercars or tuner supercars as a lousy purchase.

The uber-performance you pay for can never be (remotely legally) harnessed on the street and you'd still get smoked on a track day by some lesser car set up specifically for track duty. Meanwhile, particularly with the tuners, you give up ride quality, creature comforts, and subtlety.

The traditional refrain is something along the lines of a Phaeton and a cheap track car (sound familiar?).

...but it appears this Porsche invalidates the argument.

Minor quibbles: with the level of modification and no roll cage (or other track safety stuff), is this an open track day only car, or is there a series one could race it in?

I saw a b|b|i Porsche while at the car wash yesterday... as it pulled away (after filling up with 100), it sounded tuner-ish.

Do you have an video/audio that you can share with regards to how this beast sounds?

Hell of a write up, and HELL of a car!!! Reading the numbers you mentioned near the start, I was thinking "hmm, seems to be a little exagerated". Then I rememered the numbers of a stock GT2: numbers like 0-60 in 3.3, the 1/4 in 11.3@127MPH, 0-100 in 7.3, all from a comparatively pansy ass 530HP!
Simply put, an amazing car in stock form, and evidentally an extraordinarily amazing car in Switzer form!!! Major props to Tym and the rest of the Switzer crew for not only putting together a monster, but putting together a monster that can be lived with on a daily basis without trying to puke fluids or threaten the occupants lives!
