Now that we're nearly 5 months past this event, I think it will go down as a watershed event for social marketing. A major corporation made the decision to put social media ahead of traditional media for what Jay Leno just said was a "breakthrough car" - the Chevy Volt pre-release.

Hey guys!
First time I've ever seen your site, but great article. Love your write up and especially your 2nd paragraph! Wish I was in your position to get invited to these things! Keep up the great descriptive work for all us outsiders who relish every detail.

Steve, bummer we didn't run into each other -- I saved my kickass Typhoon launch shirt for a special event like this. Back into the special reserve it goes.

Fight for GMC's future, mate.

Nice write-up, Adam! I was one of the brand representatives from design (GMC). I didn't notice you or Ray on the innitial media attendance list. Had I, I would have surely looked out for you. Thank you for setting the record straight on some of the early "verbalized, visual feedback" from a few of the first reviews. I think a lot of people who weren't there, were coming away with the wrong impressions, based on how some of the media was describing the product......especially in the case of the Malibu. It was driving me crazy......haha.

*cheers*
