With a three lap lead and only thirty minutes to go the Speed:Sport:Life team of Krider Racing/Big Sausage Pizza Delivery was looking to win the ChumpCar 7-hour enduro at Auto Club Speedway. But then the Acura Integra had different ideas and the team had to finish second after a lengthy pit stop to fix a fuel/electrical problem.
Team Black Iron Racing took first place in their V-8 5-series BMW. Krider Racing fell to second and Team Priapism in another BMW took the final podium spot.
Tire wear was a factor in the event as the track surface of Auto Club Speedway was quite abrasive. Team Zoom Zoom Boom used all of their tire rubber, and then some.
