2027 Ford Bronco Filson: Capability First, Leather Second

Filson has spent close to 130 years making waxed-cotton coats and tin-cloth bags for people who work outdoors for a living, the U.S. Forest Service among them. It does not put that name on things that cannot survive the same use. The 2027 Ford Bronco Filson arrives with the Sasquatch off-road package standard on every truck, the Bronco Raptor’s twin-turbocharged V6 under the hood, and a cabin built around the idea that good gear should wear in rather than wear out.

Ford knows the outdoor-brand formula works, because it wrote it. The Eddie Bauer Bronco arrived for 1985 as the top of the range, two-tone paint and a trail-themed cabin over a genuinely capable truck, and buyers took to it so thoroughly that the badge outlived the Bronco itself. The Eddie Bauer name spread to the Explorer, the Expedition, and the F-150 and stayed in Ford showrooms for 26 years before the partnership closed in 2010. Filson inherits that lineage with one difference: the capability came first this time, and the leather went on over a truck already equipped to back up the name.

What the 2027 Ford Bronco Filson Brings Off-Road

Sasquatch brings front and rear electronic locking differentials, Fox shocks with internal-bypass dampers, and 35-inch tires to every example that leaves the line, with none of it optional. The engine is the 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 from the Raptor, retuned for this application. Ford has not published horsepower or torque for the Filson Bronco yet. Trail Turn Assist, Trail 1-Pedal Drive, and the seven-mode G.O.A.T. terrain system carry over, riding on a high-strength steel ladder frame.

Inside the Filson Cabin

The interior most visibly showcases Filson’s design work. The designers specified quilted perforated leather, woven trim drawn from the company’s twill, a leather-wrapped dash and steering wheel, and brass on the wheel bezel and the G.O.A.T. dial. Ford calls it the quietest Bronco cabin yet, with acoustic glass, reworked door seals, and close to 20 percent less perceived wind noise than the 2021 truck. Ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and a Bang & Olufsen system enhance the level of comfort that the Bronco has never offered before. Removable saddlebags clip into the doors and cargo bay, a digital rearview mirror keeps the view clear even with the back fully loaded, and the running boards power out on their own. Design director Paul Wraith described the goal as premium without being precious, an interior meant to age with the truck rather than be babied.

Where the Filson Sits in the Bronco Lineup

While the Filson Bronco shares the engine with the Bronco Raptor, it is aimed at a different buyer entirely. The Filson slots above the Heritage and Stroppe editions and below the $81,990 Raptor, and the two serve different drivers. The Raptor is for crossing broken desert at speed. The Filson is for getting to a remote place and being comfortable once the engine is off.

Where the Filson Lands 2026 Bronco lineup, starting MSRP
Heritage Edition $53,620
Stroppe Edition $71,990
Filson Mid-$70Ks target
Raptor $81,990

Filson price is a Ford target, not final. Competitor MSRPs current at publication and subject to change.

Styling, Colors, and the First Edition

The exterior changes are restrained. BRONCO is spelled across the grille, the wheel arches wear heritage paint, the mirror caps are body-color, and the trail-sight tie-downs are sized to lash down a canoe. Exclusive Field Green Metallic leads a palette that runs through Marsh Gray, Avalanche Gray, Desert Sand, Shadow Black, and Oxford White.

Ford is targeting a starting price in the mid-$70,000s, a target rather than a final figure. Orders open in fall 2026, deliveries follow in early 2027, and every truck comes down the same Michigan Assembly line in Wayne that has built Broncos since 2021. A serialized First Edition in Iron Sands Copper Metallic marks the North American launch. The Bronco lineup already had a truck for the trail and a truck for the desert. The Filson adds the one you would not mind living in for a week at the end of a fire road.
