With a three lap lead and only thirty minutes to go the Speed:Sport:Life team of Krider Racing/Big Sausage Pizza Delivery was looking to win the ChumpCar 7-hour enduro at Auto Club Speedway. But then the Acura Integra had different ideas and the team had to finish second after a lengthy pit stop to fix a fuel/electrical problem.

Team Black Iron Racing took first place in their V-8 5-series BMW. Krider Racing fell to second and Team Priapism in another BMW took the final podium spot.

Tire wear was a factor in the event as the track surface of Auto Club Speedway was quite abrasive. Team Zoom Zoom Boom used all of their tire rubber, and then some.

Sunday will bring a fresh 7-hour enduro with ChumpCar. Stay tuned this weekend for more live updates.

Checkered Flag at both ChumpCar and Daytona

On the left coast, Eyesore Racing picked up the overall win at the ChumpCar race at the Streets of Willow Springs driving a $500 Mazda Miata.

And in Florida, Action Express Racing picked up the 24 Hours at Daytona overall win in their $500,000 Porsche.

Krider Racing Done at Hour 21 at ChumpCar

On the West Coast, Krider Racing was in a heated podium battle as the sun came up during the ChumpCar World Series at the Streets of Willow Springs, unfortunately, what was heated was the motor. Blown head gasket three hours before the finish. Even with the Integra parked and leaking, Krider Racing may squeek out a top ten finish. Eyesore Racing in their Miata lead the ChumpCar race with an hour to go.

On the East Coast, Patrick Dempsey is looking at a top ten finish in his RX-8 at the 24 hours of Daytona (that is if his head gasket can hold on a bit longer). The Camaros are leading the GT class.

Darkness Falls on ChumpCar and Rain Pelts Daytona
